APH Holding, a privately owned asset management and investment firm specialising in hospitality, healthcare, commercial and retail developments, has today officially signed Accor as the hotel partner for its new development Novotel Melbourne Hawthorn.
Scheduled for completion in late 2023, the premium boutique hotel will ultimately deliver a total asset value of $50m. It will encompass a 7-level hotel with 87 rooms and suites, and include exclusive amenities such as a private health club, meeting rooms, premium food and beverage offerings with all-day dining, and a whiskey and cigar lounge. The development will be nestled amongst the busiest and most vibrant Glenferrie Road shopping strip, only minutes away from Swinburne University, Glenferrie train station, MLC, Scotch College, Carey Baptist Grammar School and many well-known local business headquarters.
APH Holding Chairman James Zhang, Chairwoman Weina Huangfu, CEO Johnson Zhang, General Manager of Hospitality Atsuko Asano and Accor CEO Sarah Derry, VPO Adrian Williams and VP of Development Brett Forer attended a signing ceremony today at APH Holding’s Forest Hill office.
Johnson Zhang, CEO of APH Holding commented at the ceremony today, “We’re thrilled to be working with Accor as our hotel operator – a perfect and trusted long-term partnership for what will be an iconic development. We have chosen the world-renowned Novotel brand as it was the first hotel brand which started Accor in the 1960s and continues to go from strength to strength. This is exactly what APH Holding’s vision is set on; safety, sustainability and stability and finding ways to create long-lasting partnerships to write a legacy all of us can be proud of.
“Our interaction with the local community tells us this is exactly what the Hawthorn local market has been demanding and we are confident the market will love Novotel Melbourne Hawthorn when it opens. Novotel Melbourne Hawthorn will deliver a distinctive and personable hotel offering for the Hawthorn community, a location that is ready for a hotel of this calibre.
“For APH Holding, Novotel Melbourne Hawthorn will kick off a prosperous pipeline for our hospitality portfolio, which will ultimately have over 2000 hotel keys over the next decade. With local and international travel already roaring back into action, we are proud to be delivering a range of sophisticated hotels that will service this demand.”
Sarah Derry, Chief Executive Officer for Accor Pacific, said, “We are very excited to be bringing a Novotel to Hawthorn with our partners APH Holding. The hotel will provide great experiences for guests, who will love the local neighbourhood of Hawthorn and are looking for a relaxing experience with incredible service. The hotel, restaurant and health club will fast become a must-visit destination for residents of Melbourne and hotel guests alike. This is my first official signing ceremony since I was appointed as CEO of Accor Pacific and to kick it off with one of our longest-lasting brands, Novotel, is an absolute honour.”
